Job Summary
Under the supervision of an administrator and as part of a case management team, provides transition services for paroled, probation, or incarcerated individuals; provides recordkeeping, instructional assistance, and interaction and communication with clients, staff, parole agents, probation officers, and other agencies.

This office is establishing an open eligibility list for the Re-entry Transition Specialist - Bilingual Spanish job classification. An additional 5% differential will be included in the hourly rate for this position. The Re-entry Program provides transition services in order to increase the success of paroled, on probation, or incarcerated adults or youth. Any full-time, part-time, or limited-term positions at our various SCOE locations (Yuba, Placer, Yolo, and Sacramento Counties) may be filled from this eligibility list.

Bilingual Certification Requirement: This position requires oral and written proficiency in Spanish. The following is a list of acceptable forms of bilingual certification that must be submitted with your application:

1. Bilingual certificate from a reputable testing agency
2. Verification of bilingual competence in specified language on a transcript from a regionally accredited college or university
3. Passage of CSET Subtest in the specified language that covers the domain of language and communication in the following areas:
a. oral expression
b. written expression
c. listening comprehension
d. reading comprehension
4. Bilingual, Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) Certification

Additional Clearances Required: This position requires an additional clearance process and verification of minimum qualifications from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

The CDCR minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:
1) an AA or an AS degree from a granting institution accredited by the WASC, or equivalent, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the criminal justice population; or
2) a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and a minimum of four (4) years of experience working in a similar position with the criminal justice population.

In-person work is the industry standard for educational entities such as SCOE. Hybrid telecommuting opportunities may be available depending on job duties and department needs.

Examination Process
Qualified candidates will be invited to complete remotely administered examinations, requiring a computer, webcam, and microphone. If you are unable to participate remotely, contact the designated representative before the deadline to make alternate arrangements. Tentative exam administration dates:

• Written Exam: 3/31/25 – 4/4/25
• Oral Exam: 4/7/25 – 4/11/25
• Final Interview: Date to be determined

Salary
Single Rate
$27.89 (additional 5% differential) Per Hour

Add'l Salary Info
Starting salary is $27.89 per hour with 6 annual incremental increases to $35.62, and benefits up to $1,1014.27 per month for single health coverage, $1,639.27 for 2-party, or $1,789.27 for family (includes medical, dental, life, vision, & TSA options)
