A current vacancy exists for a Part-Time Security Monitor within the Norristown Area School District at Norristown Area High School. 

This position is to assist in maintaining building security and safety in or to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. These positions will be District Floaters.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Security, law enforcement, or criminal justice, or public contact work experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Demonstrated supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of security procedures and responsibilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees and the general public.
• Working knowledge of basic computer skills.

Job Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for performing tasks involving monitoring video equipment, computer equipment and/or patrolling as assigned in order to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and personal injury to the occupants.
• Ensures that the facility is secure and that security systems are operational, observing, resolving and/or reporting any unusual conditions or activities.
• Capable of remaining alert and observant during long periods of solitude.
• While under general supervision, an employee is required to work nights, weekends and holidays without proximity to immediate supervision.
• Exercises reasonable initiative and independent judgment.
• Tact and courtesy, are expected in performing public contact tasks, particularly those involving complaints and disputes.
• May perform work outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.

Schedule & Salary 2024-2025:

$26.77/ hour

Monday- Friday: 5.5 hours a day

*Scheduled hours will be during the school day
