MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and
  2. A desire to work with students in a public school setting
  3. I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with Immigrations Reform and Control Act
  4. Completion of mandatory training sessions

  • Ability to write legibly, understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to get along well with students, parents and staff members
  • Ability to learn the organization, function, rules, policies and regulations of the School District Clerical aptitude, mental alertness, good judgment, neatness, accuracy, tact and courtesy

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Substitute Clerical reports directly to a building or program administrator or in accordance with currently established district and collective bargaining procedures and evaluation criteria.

NATURE OF THE POSITION: The work involves responsibility assisting in an office setting in the absence of or in addition to the regular staff member. The Substitute Clerical will exercise some independent judgment in the application of prescribed procedures and methods to routine situations.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to the main office upon arrival at school
  • Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and position to which assigned
  • Answers telephone (if applicable)
  • Sorts and distributes mail and packages (if applicable)
  • Files, types, faxes, and writes documents as assigned
  • Performs extra duties for the absent staff member as requested by a Building Administrator ● Reports to assigned locations and at the times designated
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation, pertaining to teachers and students
  • Continuously strives to improve professional competence and collaboration with colleagues and communities
  • Promotes positive public relations for the school’s programs and activities
  • Remains at school during the entire school day unless excused by a building or district administrator
  • Implements all rules, regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines as adopted by the District and Board of Education
  • Maintains a professional appearance as an example for students
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned by an administrator
