Position Summary: To provide for preventive maintenance and operation of school equipment and general repair of the school site while ensuring clean, sanitary, safe and well maintained school facilities.

Reporting Relationship: Building Engineer/Environmental Services Manager(s).

Qualifications:

  • City of Erie Water Tenders License required.
  • Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical and technical equipment and applications as related to specific site and job functions.
  • Knowledge of computer applications as related to job functions.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, custodial equipment, cleaning materials and procedures.
  • Effective skills in oral and written communications.
  • Ability to be flexible and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to keep organized documentation including logs, work orders and preventative, maintenance work orders on all equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as assigned by the Principal, Designee and Building Engineer.
  • Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
  • Operate mechanical and electrical equipment that supply the job site with power, heat, refrigeration and air conditioning.
  • Coordinate and monitor work activities and schedules of custodians.
  • Perform quality, service, and safety inspections. Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, supplies, and equipment.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
