Job Description

SUMMARY: Galvanize is a fast paced, dynamic workplace filled with some of the most innovative startups. The Facilities Coordinator position will be interfacing with all of our students, members, guests and event attendees and supporting our campus membership goals and initiatives. For this reason, we're looking for a candidate that operates at a highly organized and efficient level. Previous hospitality and customer service experience is critical for this role.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. 

  • Exemplify the Galvanize mission & values as the first touch point on our campus for all guests, members & students.
  • Manage an organized mailroom and inventory/order office supplies as needed.
  • Manage and diligently maintain the campus budget (purchase/receipt tracking & credit card reconciliation). Ensure cost savings where possible, communicate any overages and forecast as needed.
  • Facilitate and troubleshoot member A/V needs.
  • Answer incoming calls and website interest in regards to membership and event inquiries.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to all member needs (i.e. building maintenance requests, IT help, resources etc.) and raise any issues to the Campus Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the member on-boarding process (new member orientation, member check-ins, wireless network configuration, printer connection, facilities requirements etc.)
  • Manage vendor relationships and communicate with the accounting department to ensure on time payments.
  • Manage and support the overall operations and general upkeep of the campus.
  • Ensure that the campus and campus equipment is impeccably maintained so our members have an exceptional working and learning environment.
  • Support the Nexudus and Zendesk customer support program in conjunction with the other campus Community Coordinators.
  • Coordinate with Membership Manager to fulfill needs of suite members and support suite turnover (furniture, IT, AV requests).
  • Conduct preventative maintenance audits and inspections of campus on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and efficiently address any identified issues.
  • Work with Campus Operations Manager to proactively form relationships and develop a network of vendors in your city. Compile and maintain a list of approved vendors for each major system (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
  • Manage building improvements/system upgrades, including small repairs and/or working with contractors as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND
  • 2+ years experience in the hospitality or customer service industry.

 

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

 

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of community development.
  • Social media experience preferred
  • Ability to think on your feet to creatively problem solve.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High sense of awareness and personal responsibility.
  • Comfort and ease in interacting with new people daily.
  • Eagerness to grow within Galvanize.
  • Must be able to lift boxes up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to clear required background check

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Previous experience in the startup space is a plus.
  • Experience with Vendor and Facility management
  • Desire to occasionally take on stretch projects outside daily responsibilities.

  • This is an office-based position.  The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).  
  • Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. 

    We anticipate the hourly rate range to be $21.45-$34.32 per hour.  Eligible employees may receive a bonus.  This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors.  These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
