Schedule and Wages:                          
Job Responsibilities:
1.  Perform general lifeguard duties; administer first aid and perform rescue operations as needed.
2.  Greet visitors and provide information at pool facilities.
3.  Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergency situations and administer first aid as needed.
4.  Monitor facility and equipment to ensure safety.
5.  Oversee activities within the pool and surrounding areas.
6.  Actively participate and engage in regular in-service training sessions.
7.  Enforce all policies and rules in a consistent, professional manner.
8.  Maintain a high level of professionalism.
 
Job Qualifications:
1.  Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
2.  Evidence of successful experience as a waterfront lifeguard preferred.
3.  Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to perform water safety surveillance techniques as demonstrated in a physical assessment described below. 
4.  Demonstrated leadership, public relations, and communication skills.
5.  Ability to work under minimal supervision.
6.  Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
7.  Must be at least 16 years of age to work at one of our public beaches and at least 15 years of age to work at the MME and MMW pools.
8.  Must be able to successfully complete the Physical Fitness Swim Assessment
   •  550 yd continuous swim, freestyle and breaststroke 
   •  20 yard swim followed by a 5lb brick retrieval at 7-10ft depth, then kick back to the beginning on back while holding the brick 
   •  15 yd underwater swim while retrieving multiple rings 
   •  2 minutes treading water with no hands
