About Minnetonka Public Schools (Minnesota)

The Minnetonka Public School District is among the highest performing school districts in Minnesota and the nation.

If you are looking for a school district that's focused on world-class, child-centered excellence in early childhood, elementary and secondary education, you've just found it! The district is known for academic rigor, excellence in the arts and athletics, and choice and flexibility for students and families. Strong schools are vital to a strong community and serving the greater good is a key component of our mission.

Our district proudly serves families in all or part of 10 communities: Minnetonka, Chanhassen, Deephaven, Eden Prairie, Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood, Tonka Bay, Victoria and Woodland. In addition, students from 45 other Minnesota school districts attend Minnetonka schools through the state's Open Enrollment program.

Our Schools:

  • Six Elementary Schools (Grades K-5)
  • Two Middle Schools (Grades 6-8)
  • One High School (Grades 9-12)
  • Tonka Online (Online school option for grades K-12)
  • SAIL (Post high school transition program)

Programs and Initiatives:

  • Language Immersion Programs: Offers Chiense and Spanish language immersionm options, as well as English-only instruction
  • Advanced Learning Programs: Provides programs for intellectually gifted and academically advanced learners
  • Technology Literacy: Focuses on computer coding. Inspired by Code.org, we have implemented a K-12 coding curriculum that introduces all students to the language of computer programming. This program is unique-one of the first of its kind in the state of Minnesota

Overall Minnetonka Public Schools is a district that prioritizes innovation, excellence and student success.
