POSITION OVERVIEW
The STEM Camp Counselor will provide assistance to STEM camp participants under the supervision and direction of the STEM Camp Teachers. They will serve as mentors to students and support activities and logistics for the camp. Counselors in this position will engage with students through the lens of STEM and demonstrate a knowledge of and excitement for STEM.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Engage with students in STEM activities
• Mentor and encourage students in the STEM camp
• Collaborate with STEM Camp Teachers
• Perform work related as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Science, technology, engineering, or mathematics interest
• Current 9th – 12th grade or current college students
• Ability to work effectively with children; to carry out designated instructional assignments
• Good human relations and communication skills

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This part-time hourly position reports to the Propel/STEM Supervisor.

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This is a part-time, non-benefited, hourly position. No guarantee of minimum hours.

 

Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Required Training:

  • Dates: June 24 – June 25
  • Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Location: Seneca Ridge Middle School

PROPEL Camp Dates and Location:

  • Camp Dates: July 7 – July 11, 2025 (Week 1) & July 14 – July 18, 2025 (Week 2)
  • Location: TBD
  • Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Level Up Camp Dates and Location:

  • Dates: June 30 – July 3, 2025
  • Location: Academies of Loudoun
  • Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

 

 

Salary Level: Band Rates: Band 1/ $14.59 hourly
