Job Description

Residency Requirements: Strongly prefer residents of Indiana. May consider residents within the United States.

The REMOTE Valorant eSports Coach/Instructor is responsible for creating a fun and exciting experience for students interested in competing in a virtual environment.  

This is a part-time position, hours to be determined by supervisor. This is an contract position with an immediate start within SY 24/25. This position would require you to work Eastern Standard Time hours

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Instruct and execute day-to-day operations of the clubs.
  • Oversee practices to improve students' skills in E-gaming and other technology-based clubs including but not limited to Minecraft, PC gaming platforms, and other virtual clubs.
  • Assist students with PC setups, up-to-date gaming strategies, and team building-building exercises.
  • Reporting for the school administration with feedback on the day’s activities; data tracking including attendance and participation
  • Ensure that all institutional, as well as any E-sport organizational policies and procedures are adhered to and complied with.
  • Create and distribute materials for communication within the school and on social media platforms
  • Assist in growth and facilitation along with content teachers of Career based clubs including but not limited to Skills USA, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Teachers of America, FFA and other clubs aligned with student interest and school goals.
  • Oversee appropriate online conversations among students in socialization platforms.
  • Assist students in aligning their club interests to their transition, resume and college application plans.
  • Ability to represent the school in presenting opportunities to students and increasing socialization and club participation.
  • Potentially facilitate other non-technical competitions

 Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Three (3) years of successful experience in E-gaming platforms OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Shared view of the virtual academy’s mission
  • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge
  • An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
  • Knowledgeable in the application of data bases utilized by K12
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organization and time-management skills
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check
