Position Summary

The Director of Experiential Learning will lead the development and implementation of experiential learning programs across all grades (PK-12). This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in education, a passion for innovative teaching practices, and the ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and the broader community. The Director will work to integrate hands-on, real-world learning experiences into the curriculum and co-curriculum, emphasizing project-based learning, service learning, internships, global learning, and community partnerships.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development
    • Design, implement, and evaluate experiential learning programs that align with the school’s mission and educational goals.
    • Collaborate with faculty to integrate experiential learning into existing curricula across grade levels.
    • Develop partnerships with local organizations, businesses, schools, and community members to create opportunities for students.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead a team of faculty and staff in the delivery of experiential learning initiatives.
    • Facilitate professional development workshops and training sessions for faculty on experiential learning methodologies and best practices.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation among faculty, encouraging experimentation and creativity in teaching.
  • Student Engagement
    • Advocate for student voice and choice in experiential learning opportunities, ensuring that programs are inclusive and accessible to all students.
    • Support students in identifying their interests and passions, guiding them toward relevant experiential learning projects and opportunities.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Develop assessment tools to measure the effectiveness and impact of experiential learning programs on student outcomes.
    • Collect and analyze data to inform continuous improvement and showcase the value of experiential learning to stakeholders.
  • Community Outreach
    • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions to enhance experiential learning opportunities for students.
    • Organize community events, workshops, and presentations to promote experiential learning within the school and the wider community.
  • Communication
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, faculty, and community stakeholders about experiential learning initiatives and opportunities.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for the school community, leadership, and board to highlight the impact of experiential learning programs.

 

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in K-12 education, with a focus on innovative teaching and learning practices.
  • Proven experience in program development, project-based learning, and community engagement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate faculty and students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaboration and inclusivity.
  • Knowledge of current trends in experiential learning and education.

 

Salary and Benefits

 

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's years of experience, education, skills, and job-related responsibilities. Candidates will be offered a salary between $70,000 and $100,000. Candidates with additional experience or qualifications may be offered a salary outside the range shown.
