Job Overview

The Clerical Assistant position supports the Community Schools mobile health clinic initiative, via the Office of Outreach Services. The mobile health clinic functions to bring health care to students enrolled in LCPS schools with the Community Schools designation. The Clerical Assistant (CA) is responsible for coordinating mobile health clinic projects and activities and assuming additional office responsibilities and duties as assigned. The CA will collaborate with the various partners supporting the mobile health clinic initiative, to include Student Services personnel, school-based staff, and community organizations. The CA must be able to complete assignments independently, work collaboratively with others, and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. 

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.

 

  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the mobile health clinic program, and broader Community Schools initiative
  • Creates and manages the schedule for the mobile health clinic, in conjunction with school-based staff and administrative contacts from community partners that support the mobile clinic operation
  • Orders medical and office supplies for mobile clinic Creates, updates and manages spreadsheets, word documents, databases, and other electronic files required for the efficient operation of the mobile health clinic and community schools initiative.
  • Works closely with the Director of Student Services, Supervisor of Outreach Services, Supervisor of Student Health Services, and Community Schools Nurse Practitioner to complete administrative and clerical tasks as assigned
  • Assists with development of marketing materials for the mobile health clinic
  • Schedules staff and volunteers to support each clinic event
  • Assists with updating the community schools section of the LCPS website and intranet site.

 

 Qualifications

Below are the qualifications for this position:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
  • Ability to assist in the scheduling and coordination of events, meetings, and programs
  • Strong management and organizational skills and attention to detail Strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with many different audiences including but not limited to parents, schoolbased employees and central office administration
  • Experience in producing accurate reports quickly using a variety of formats, accessing data from numerous sources, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word; file creation and maintenance and ability to maintain databases on other systems through data entering, editing and updating procedures

Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

 

 

Salary Level: Banded Rates: Band 3

This is a part-time non-benfitted position.

There is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours.
