TITLE: Transportation & Financial Assistance Coordinator
TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time (1.0); expected start ASAP; salary commensurate with experience (current range $24.59-33.37/hour)
LOCATION: District, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

The Transportation and Financial Assistance Coordinator works within the Business Office organization by coordinating and overseeing an array of ongoing duties and special projects. The Coordinator works to ensure safe student transportation to and from school, and addresses the concerns of families regarding transportation-related issues. The Transportation and Financial Assistance Coordinator reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred;
- Skill in operating a personal computer in both a PC and Apple environment;
- Ability to learn new software applications;
- Ability to manage databases;
- Ability to communicate clearly & effectively, both orally and in writing;
- Ability to multitask and work well in high volume, fast paced environment;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the supervisor(s) may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal requirements.
DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- In conjunction with the School Bus Dispatcher, manages the daily operations of the district’s transportation system including communications with parents, the schools and administration, with a customer service approach;
- Handles all communications regarding transportation with parents, the schools, and administration, both written & verbal;
- Maintains student and family information in various data entry systems;
- Maintains and updates the transportation website, and various forms and materials;
- Manages the annual rollout of all aspects of busing for each school year, to include design of all bus routes, bus stops, and student bus assignments;
- Makes appropriate recommendations regarding changes to transportation policies for the district;
- Oversees the Crossing Guards, to include schedule coordination and submission of bi-weekly payroll;
- Oversees the school district’s Financial Assistance Program;
- Other duties, as assigned.
