Position Summary:
Provide instruction and perform related duties to ensure regular routines and responsibilities are followed during the absence of the regular employee

Certifications, Licenses or Permits Required:
None required
Teaching certificate preferred

Description:
  • Manages classroom and provides instruction to students according to plans
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
  • Uses appropriate behavior management strategies
  • Implements lesson plans • Supervises children outside the classroom (i.e. hallways, cafeteria, etc.)
  • Adheres to all Forsyth County School Board of Education policies, and all state and federal policies and procedures
  • Adheres to professional ethics
  • Establishes and maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Works effectively with administration, office staff, and all other school staff members
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Performance Requirements:
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Hearing: Ability to receive detailed information and instruction
  • Vision: Abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
