License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia teaching certification, S-5 Instructional Technology certification, or S-5 Media certification required.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree in related field preferred.
Experience Qualifications: Three years of experience integrating technology in instruction in a K-12 environment preferred.
Skills Qualifications: Strong background in the use of technology to support teaching and learning; excellent technology skills in instructional and productivity software; strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others; ability to problem solve, lead, and multitask; ability to create various training materials; and ability to teach and coach end users with varied computer competencies on the use of complex technologies.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide direction and support in the use of technology and oversee the planning of technology initiatives in support of teaching and learning.
1. Facilitating Technology Integration & Innovation Provide technology leadership contributing to a shared school vision of future ready teaching and learning by supporting teachers and school leaders in advancing from traditional classroom instruction to future ready instructional practices via support for professional learning opportunities, curriculum learning teams, and individual coaching. - Collaborate with the local school leadership team to support the vision of future ready instructional practices in alignment with the LSPI and Blueprint for the Future.
- Inspire teachers and school staff to create equitable and authentic learning experiences through modeling and coaching.
- Provide professional learning opportunities including large group, small group, and individual coaching.
- Coach and model future ready instructional practices and lesson experiences that support each and every student and leverage the Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies.
- Build the capacity of teachers to utilize the Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies, 1:1 deployment of technology, and key LMS systems (D2L, Google Classroom, & others) to transform teaching and learning.
- Provide an instructional focus and lens for the Technology Integration Support Team.
2. Supporting Future Ready Teaching & Learning Support staff and students in selecting, accessing, and implementing technology resources with safe and secure practices in order to facilitate future ready teaching and learning. - Assist with the adoption/implementation of new and existing district technology initiatives including but not limited to eClass integration, Google Classroom, gradebook, and digital instructional resources.
- Evaluate, support, and monitor potential, new, and existing technologies for integration in all teaching and learning experiences.
- Empower educators and leaders to utilize appropriate technology solutions including software, cloud, or hardware implementation in support of future ready instructional practices.
- Facilitate provisioning, updating, and/or administration of processes during specific school transition periods (e.g. beginning of year, end of semester, end-of-year setup).
- Support teachers in incorporating digital citizenship practices into student learning and maintaining a safe and secure digital learning environment.
- Provide guidance to teachers and school leaders in support of parent and family engagement as it relates to student use of technology.
3. Professional Growth Engage in reflective practices that support personal professional growth. - Keep up to date with research and developments around instructional technology, technological integration, and future ready instructional practices.
- Participate in professional learning that deepens expertise of current instructional technology trends, coaching best practices, and adult learning.
- Engage with other Instructional Technology & Innovation Coaches and members of the Technology Integration Support Team to enhance and improve practice.
- Transfer knowledge gained through professional growth opportunities and collaboration into current practice.
4. Other School Support Duties
Support schools in other critical areas related to technology integration and innovation. - Assist with beginning and end of term processes, including gradebook setup, grading, etc.
- Assist teachers and administrators in using data to guide instruction and make school decisions in support of the LSPI.
- Work with administration to ensure that the community is engaged and informed through digital communication platforms (School websites, ParentSquare, Social Media).
- Collaborate with the technology integration support team to ensure that each and every student has access to a 1:1 device and records are appropriately maintained.
5. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:
This position requires extended periods of computer use. The lifting of computer equipment and peripherals are often required of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk.
