Position Summary:
We are seeking an engaging and knowledgeable History Teacher to inspire students to explore the past and its relevance to today’s world. The ideal candidate will integrate diverse perspectives and promote critical thinking, fostering an understanding of history that emphasizes social justice and equity.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver history lessons aligned with state and national standards.
  • Incorporate diverse historical narratives, including marginalized communities and global perspectives.
  • Encourage critical inquiry and analytical thinking in students.
  • Utilize primary and secondary sources to help students interpret historical events.
  • Promote discussions around contemporary issues and their historical roots.
  • Foster a classroom culture of respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or related field; teaching certification required.
  • Experience teaching history or social studies in middle or high school (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Ability to connect historical content with current social and global issues.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and a diverse learning environment.
