PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

 

To assist the District Early Childhood Facilitator in the establishment and monitoring of curriculum, operation of children and staffing of the School-Age Program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  • To administer of the Standards of Quality for a child care programs.

  • To supervis of personnel.

  • To assist in the development of curriculum. 

  • Develop and carry out weekly lesson plans including art, manipulatives, games, building, imaginative play, large motor, sensory and reading.

  • To implementation of the Program Guide, Health Policy and Procedures and Staff Handbook. 

  • To implement the Child Care Licensing rules and regulations

  • To assist in the compiling, submitting, and review written reports as required for the Programs.

  • To keep current records on family billing cards, to receive payments and provide receipts and deposits as needed.

  • Maintain family e-mails and phone numbers for purposes of communication.

  • To assist in the record keeping of the programs.

  • To create weekly children’s numbers with schedules provided by parents.

  • Keep accurate daily numbers and record on family billing cards

  • To record DHHS hours and to bill accordingly.

  • To engage in activities with the children indoor and outdoor.

  • To teach and model respect to children and staff.

  • To assist in any other areas of need as directed by your supervisors.

 

DIMENSIONS OF POSITION:

 

To assist in the supervision of children and personnel assigned the Before and After School Programs, to administer curriculum, to counsel children, parents and staff and to plan and supervise all aspects of the program as assigned by your supervisors.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

 
  1. Minimum Education Requirements:

 
  1. Meet the minimum requirements as stated by the State of Michigan Department of Human Services Office of Children and Adult Licensing; Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers for a Program Director.

  2. Minimum General Requirements:

  3. Background knowledge of State of Michigan Department of Human Services Office of Children and Adult Licensing; Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers.

  4. Must have the physical stamina to work long and flexible hours.

  5. Demonstrate ability to organize and operate programs.

  6. Demonstrate the ability to communicate both verbally and in written form with school administrators, staff, parents and children.

  7. Current Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; skill in oral and written communication.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements, Board of Education policies, and applicable State and Federal laws.
