Catapult is seeking an After School tutor to work with students in a non-public school setting at the Compassion House School in Paterson, NJ.
This positions is 1 hour/ day, approximately 5 hours a week. Compensation is $35/hr.
This position requires an active NJ Teaching certification, CE at minimum.
How you’ll be there for students:
Be their advocate, difference maker, and mentor.
- Facilitates the implementation of academic instructional programs, computer lab components, class work and assessments for students.
- Must acclimate to the teachers’ class routine to provide classroom assistance/coverage.
- Interacts with an individual or a small group of students to reinforce learning materials and skills, first presented by the teacher.
- Assists with parent/teacher communication, while also maintaining confidential information of co-workers, children, and families.
- Conducts attendance, maintains students’ daily progression records, and program tracking. This includes supporting and documenting students’ growth and progress towards their academic goals.
- Monitors student behavior and ensure they are supervised at all times.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment for all students.
- Assists other staff with students when needed, if applicable.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What we’ll need from you:
The positive, enthusiastic teacher we seek has these qualifications.
- NJ CE certification at minimum
- Catapult Learning employees are subject to state and local licensure and pre-employment screening.
- Must be proficient with virtual platforms, i.e. Zoom, MS Office, etc.
