As a Part-Time Early Childhood Teacher with Catapult Learning's Early Childhood Program, you are required to always perform the following job functions to the best of your ability. You will receive training from a qualified Catapult Learning Program Director. Please feel free to express any concerns in areas where you may need additional training or information.
Teachers must be available for in-person before and after-care programs.
Program hours: Before Care is 7:30am – 8:15am and After Care is 3:05pm – 5:30pm.
How you’ll be there for students:
Be their advocate, shining star, and mentor
- Supervise guide, assist, and facilitate all classroom responsibilities including the learning environment in the classroom, lesson plan. implementation, classroom management, and parent communication and involvement.
- Relate positively to children and demonstrate professional relationships with parents, children, co-workers, and school staff. ·
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner which may include, learning, materials, maintaining appearance of classroom, and organizing supplies.
- Attend school functions, staff meetings, workshops, and in-service as required.
- Always supervise children including playground area, must be able to shift priorities.
- and multi-task as necessary.
- Recognize and take advantage of "teachable moments.”
- Suggest solutions to work situations and problems as necessary and follow up by communicating affectively to manager.
- Meet and greet parents, children and visitors on arrival and departure.
- Maintain confidentiality of co-workers, children. and families
- Maintain records such as student attendance, incident, and accident reports, parent sign in sheets, and daily schedules. ·
- Responsible for implementing lesson plans with purposeful objectives, using Catapult Learning curriculum components such as shared reading, literacy development, math readiness, motor movements, art, music, computers, and circle time.
- Follow a daily schedule as well as establish routines with smooth transitions periods.
- Ensure that classroom is safe and complies with all state licensing regulations.
- Must meet or exceed the qualification requirements set forth in chapter 52, Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers, State of New Jersey.
- Must complete Child Abuse Record Information Background Check.
- Must complete a Criminal History Record Information Background Check

What we’ll need from you:
The positive, enthusiastic teacher we seek has these qualifications.
- Head Teacher: Requires a bachelor's degree and valid teaching certificate, as required by contract Teaching experience preferred.
- Group Teacher: Requires a Child Development Associate Certificate or Associates Degree.
- Teaching Experience a Must
- Must meet or exceed the qualification requirements set forth in chapter 52, Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers, State of New Jersey.
- Must complete Child Abuse Record Information Background Check.
- Must complete a Criminal History Record Information Background Check.
- All Head Teacher and Group Teacher must be certified in Pediatric CPR/First Aid
- Responsible for updating employee file with 16 hours of continuing education information on a yearly basis.

- Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Programs are in school settings.
