QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Bachelor’s degree
Valid Texas Teaching Certification with required endorsements
Endorsements:
ELAR 4-8 OR English 6-12 OR Core Subjects 4-8 OR Generalist 4-8
AND
Bilingual Education Supplemental
OR Bilingual/ESL Endorsement OR English as a Second Language Endorsement OR English as a Second Language Supplemental OR Bilingual/ESL Grades PK-12 OR English as a Second Language Junior High School (grades 9-10 only)
Experience:
Preferred
Three years of successfully teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students at the middle school level
Experience in multiple grade levels 6-8
Special Knowledge/Skills
Expertise in second language acquisition and culturally responsive pedagogy
Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of LPAC on campus
Experience with using the ELLevation Education platform for compliance and/or instructional purposes preferred
Experience preparing and maintaining EL program documentation as required by state and federal mandates preferred
Experience with the implementation of Elementary EL programs
Ability to guide and coach teachers in the effective implementation of strategies and best practices for English learners
Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
