Must be willing to work at least two to three days a week.
Substitute Aide/paraprofessional requirements: High School diploma or equivalency. Classroom Substitute Teacher requirements: Minimum 48 hours of college.

Substitutes working this fall semester can enjoy a temporaryincentive of $10/day increase over the standard substitute pay rate. Those who work on Mondays and Fridays can expect an extra $20 per day increase. See the Salary section below for special rates per position.
Sub pay incentives for Fall and Spring Semester 08/12/2024-5/23/2025 Daily Rate Tues- Thurs including the $10 incentive: Teacher-GISD Retired - $145 Teacher-TX Certified - $125 Teacher-Degree, (Associate, 48 hours of college or Bachelor) - $110 Instructional Aide - $95 Non-instructional Aide - $85
Monday/Fridays including incentive is another $10. Teacher-GISD Retired - $155 Teacher-TX Certified - $135 Teacher-Degree, (Associate, 48 hours of college or Bachelor) - $120 Instructional Aide - $105 Non-instructional Aide - $95
Standard daily rates without incentives: Teacher-GISD Retired - $135 Teacher-TX Certified - $115 Teacher-Degree, (Associate, 48 hours of college or Bachelor) - $100 Instructional Aide - $85 Non-instructional Aide - $75
