Garland Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of substitute nurse.  The appointee will report directly to the Principal/Director of Health Services and will be responsible for performing duties when the regular school nurse is absent.  The person will work closely with students, parents, and campus staff.
 
Qualifications: 
The Substitute Nurse will hold a valid license to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
 
Preference will be given to applicants who:
 
--have successful experience in the nursing field
--demonstrate effective communications, public relation and interpersonal skills
--possess strong assessment skills
--exhibit the ability to work well with students
--have a service oriented personality
 
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
 
Salary:  Pay range:  Certified substitute scale - $215.00 per day (GISD has a temporary incentive for 2023-24 of an extra $10 a day  Tues.-Thurs. and an extra $20 a day for Monday and Friday).
 
Employment begins:  As soon as possible, on an as-needed basis
