Job Description:

The Substitute Clinica Assistant (CNA) provides support to the Registered Nurse in the school clinic.

Qualifications:

 

Certificates & Licenses:  License to practice nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Virginia required.  Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is preferred.  Professional Healthcare Provider CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required. 

  • Evidence of a negative tuberculin test (or chest x-ray)
  • Criminal background check — at the orientation session, you will schedule an appointment to return for fingerprinting (the cost to the applicant is $44)
  • Successful completion of an interview - once you have completed your online application and you wish to request an interview, please call 703-619-8320 to schedule one
  • Attendance at an orientation session

Essential Functions:

  • Reports to proper authority upon arrival thirty (30) minutes before the official school opening.
  • Reviews with the proper authority, school nurse , or site administrator all plans and schedules to be followed during the instructional day.
  • Maintains as fully possible the established routine and procedures of the school and clinic to which assigned.
  • Follows the lead and direction of the Clinic Nurse.
  • Consults with proper authority before initiating any support to sudent or procedures not specified by the Clinic Nurse
  • Verifies with the school secretary that his/her attendance will or will not be required on the following teaching day.
  • Follows all policies, rules and procedures to which regular CNA's are subject and which good clinical practice dictates.
