A current vacancy exists for an Elementary Learning Support Teacher within the Norristown Area School District. This position is located at Marshall Street Elementary School.

Qualifications: 

• PA Special Education Certification
• Bachelors degree in Education 
• Experience working with Special Education Students preferred
• FBI, PA Criminal Background and Child Abuse clearances
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Duties & Job responsibilities:

• Maintain IEP and RR compliance.

• Complete FBAs and write and implement PBSPs.
• Maintains accurate data on students' daily progress and progress towards students' goals.

• Maintains poise and composure. 

• Maintains professional attitude.

• Communicates with parents/guardians about student’s progress.

• Demonstrates appropriate language.

• Demonstrates a willingness to cooperate toward District Goals.

• Evidences planning which reflects objectives and activities based on students' needs.

• Keeps abreast of subject and special practices.

• Provides appropriate instructional material to meet the student’s needs.

• Demonstrates the ability to organize for instruction.

• Encourages students with appropriate positive reinforcement.

• Provides an educational atmosphere consistent with instructional goals.

• Provides for individual student differences.

• Utilizes appropriate instructional and behavioral strategies.

Schedule: 

Monday- Friday 

7.5 hrs/day

2024-2025 salary schedule: (Teachers contract is currently under negotiation) The rates below are the 23-24 rates:

Bachelor's - $51,733 to $57,899(Step 5)

Bachelor's + 24 - $54,987 to $62,383(Step 5)

Master's - $58,074 to $66,699 (Step 5)

Master's + 15 - $60,547 to $69,608(Step 5)

Master's + 30 - $63,019 to $72,515 (Step 5)

Master's + 45 - $63,484 to $72,999 (Step 5)

Doctorate/Master's + 60 - $63,947 to $73,485 (Step 5)
