We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable 5A Head Basketball High School Coach to lead and instruct both high school and middle school players. The successful candidate will have a strong background in coaching basketball and be able to communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute effective practices and games for players
- Develop and implement skill-building drills and exercises that challenge and motivate players
- Work with other members of school staff to plan and implement instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes.
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork
- Maintain accurate records of player attendance, game schedules, and team statistics
- Attend coaching meetings and staff trainings as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Previous coaching experience at the youth or high school level, college or professional level preferred.
- Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Must be knowledgable of the South Carolina High School League rules and regulations and be able to follow and implement them.
- Ability to work positively and communicate well with the Athletic Director and Principal on all events, player updates, and team management.
