CalWest Required Qualifications
- ABachelor’s Degreeand/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 4+ years in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field (independent school experience preferred)
- Proven track record in relationship management and constituent cultivation
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with fundraising software, preferably Raiser’s Edge
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
- May require lifting up to 20 pounds and occasional travel
- Work may include extended periods at a desk and computer
- Monthly evening and weekend work
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, text, email, phone, and face-to-face solicitations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, alumni, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling fundraising messages, donor correspondence, and annual giving materials.
- Competency in using data to drive decision-making, including analyzing donor trends, tracking campaign progress, and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Expertise in developing and implementing donor stewardship programs to ensure donors feel appreciated and engaged.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and meeting budget constraints.
- Experience in leading teams, motivating volunteers and staff, and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve department goals.
- Sensitivity and adaptability to diverse cultural backgrounds, understanding different perspectives, and fostering an inclusive environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and innovate new approaches to annual giving in response to evolving donor behaviors and preferences.
- Ability to think and act creatively to evolve practices and programs to maximize giving and engagement.
