Join us!The Graduation Coach works with counselors and administration to identify and provide interventions and support services to students that are at risk of not graduating on time, and to help ensure that students are college or career ready upon graduation. The role works directly with students to help earn credits and work closely with students and teachers to monitor pass rates while creating pathways for students to find success.This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week isrequired. Ability tomaintaina professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.The salary for this position is $40,000.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Apply expertise to collect, process and analyze data (academic tracker, age-out, graduation plans, and various demographics as obtained from TVS and TVE, etc.) on a case-by-case basis to identify students who may be at-risk and identify appropriate academic and/or socioemotional supports available; understand how students may qualify for alternative education as evidenced by the at-risk student indicators;Identify students that qualify and would benefit from credit recovery coursework or credit-based examinations; monitor progress of credit recovery coursework through completion.Communicatehighexpectations andshowsan activeinterestinstudent’s achievement, establishes, and maintains a positive rapport with families; develop a communication plan for parents and students of students at risk of not graduating and executes through frequent regular communication.Build and sustain relationships with students to help students get back on track; Set action steps to help ISOK students get on track for graduation.Work closely with low-performing high school students to stay on track to graduate.Hold sessions with 8th grade students to help transition students into high school.Organize and hold graduation planning sessions for students and families.Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to develop systematic strategies and initiatives to identify and support students and collect data to determine effectiveness of strategies and initiatives.Work with teachers and counselors to structure and implement interventions to increase the likelihood that at-risk students will stay in school and graduate.Collaborate with teachers and administration to develop a transition program for 9th graders to successfully adapt to high school in the virtual environment.Connect students and their parents with programs and social agencies throughout the community.Assist counselors and testing coordinators in identification of students that have not met the graduation components including personal finance, state assessments.Advertise upcoming ACT tests and available review opportunities.Work with counseling team to assist in coordinating HVAM Graduation Ceremony, assist in reviewing work from large projects, and collaborating to improve the department; Attend all graduation-related meetings including committee meetings.Support College/Career initiatives as needed.Review and use HVAM Graduation Plan platform.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.Minimum Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree(s) ANDThree (3) years advising experience OREquivalent combination of education and experienceCertificates and Licenses: None requiredResidency Requirement:Must reside in the state of Oklahoma.OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of state graduation criteriaKnowledge of community resourcesStrong interpersonal skills with both in-person and electronic communication platforms and a customer service orientationMicrosoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point); Ability to learn new technology skills quickly.Ability to travel 20% of the time including travel to the school office for collaboration and maintenance of records, state testing, professional development, outings, and school planning meetings.Ability to clear required background check.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Oklahoma teaching certificateWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
