Job Description

 

The Recruitment Specialist works closely with school and Central Office leadership, universities, partners, and community organizations to recruit qualified and talented staff across all classifications. The position supports the implementation of pipeline programs, establishment of partnership MOUs, and launch of marketing and advertising campaigns. The incumbent will also partner closely with hiring managers to identify and define specific recruiting needs; develop and use creative ways to recruit; recommend and coordinate appropriate hires for open positions; monitor and track open positions and the requisition process; manage on-line job application system; oversee publication of weekly job opportunities and advertisements for all positions. 

 

Position works under general supervision.

 

This position reports to the Director of Recruitment and Retention.

 

Qualifications

 

Experience: Must be Proficient in MS Office. 3-5 years of recruiting experience in a professional services setting is strongly preferred.

 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in job related area required.

 

Certificates & Licenses:  HR Certification preferred, not required

 

Essential Functions

  • Assists and supports school principals and other hiring managers with identifying recruitment needs and challenges
  • Establishes hiring plan alongside school principals and hiring managers for current and future school years
  • Develops robust and targeted recruitment plans for hard-to-fill positions across all classifications
  • Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking, and career fairs
  • Manages the position posting process within the recruitment system, including technical support from applicants and hiring managers
  • Provide guidance and support throughout the hiring process, including offer negotiations and onboarding
  • Supports Director with communication, MOUs, and other work related to university partnerships and MOUs
  • Manages external hiring fair schedules, registration, logistics, and supplies
  • Coordinates with community organizations and ACPS divisions to establish partnerships and ongoing recruitment events and opportunities for Support roles
  •  Assists with the interviewing and hiring of substitute teachers as a secondary or back-up to the Senior Employment Specialist (Support).
  • Orders, maintains, and updates recruitment supplies, including branded items, brochures, and ACPS-wide collateral
  • Inputs interview records from recruitment fairs to ensure complete and accurate data
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment activities and candidate information
  • Prepare and present recruitment reports to HR leadership and school administrators
  • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition
  • Responds to a variety of inquiries from internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) to provide information, facilitate communication among parties and/or provide direction
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Clearances:

  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.

Public Health Compliance

  • Must follow safety and health protocols
