TITLE: Substitute Athletic Trainer
TYPE OF POSITION: Contingent (as needed); 2023-2024 school year; salary $45/hour
LOCATION: Middle & High Schools, Hopkinton, Massachusetts
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All qualified candidates
The Athletic Trainer works directly with students and helps with the maintenance, assessment, rehabilitation, and evaluation of student-athletes’ health, injuries, and other medical conditions. The Athletic Trainer reports to the principal(s) and the Athletic Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Commonwealth of MA Licensure (LATC);
- First Aid and CPR Teaching Certification;
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution, Master's Degree preferred;
- Experience working with adolescents;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or Athletic Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state licensure requirements.
DUTIES:
- Oversees operation and maintenance of Athletic Training Room;
- Serves as the primary resource for referrals, injury assessment, and on-site attention for student-athletes;
- Assists with injury prevention and rehabilitation for student-athletes;
- Recommends purchase, maintenance, and repair of equipment and supplies, as deemed appropriate;
- Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which activity is conducted or students are located at all times that members are present;
- Serves as first respondent for all home athletic events when the need for medical attention arises;
- Serves as site manager for various home athletic events;
- Serves as adjunct staff member of both Wellness and Athletic Department programs.
- Other duties, as assigned.
