BHS is seeking a passionate and energetic Drivers Education Teacher to provide classroom instruction to prepare students to gain their Vermont drivers licenses. This position may also include some driving time with students to complete required driving hours. The position requires state licensure in driver education.  

 

Job Requirements:

  • Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.
  • Endorsement in Driver Education (30) or eligible for Vermont Provisional License.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at the high school level.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching driver education classes and providing in-car driving instruction.
  • Knowledge of current Vermont regulations and programs related to drivers education.
  • Experience in differentiating insructon and planning curriculum using “backwards design” and formative assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology into classroom instruction.
  • Knowledge of best practices regarding frameworks of student behavioral support.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Training and/or experience with English Language Learners and students with disabilities.
  • A commitment to student-centered learning approaches including personalizing instruction and supporting students meeting core proficiencies.
