Job Description:

The Support Specialist I provide secretarial support to the school site; establishes and maintains records; compiles and distributes materials and reports; and responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.

Qualifications:

  • Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Job-related experience is desired. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Essential Functions:

 

  • Coordinates schedules, meetings, and activities in support of administrator/department staff with operational activities.
  • Maintains a wide variety of files and records (manual/computer; confidential/non-confidential) to provide documentation in accordance with administrative and legal requirements.
  • Monitors assigned departmental activities and/or program components (e.g. travel arrangements and reimbursements, meetings and events, etc.) to ensure that goals are achieved, target dates are met and financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements are satisfied.
  • Performs record-keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) to support the teacher and/or administrator in providing necessary records/materials.
  • Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) to document activities, provide written reference, and/or convey information.
  • Responds to a variety of inquiries from internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) and provides information, facilitates communication among parties, and/or provides direction.
  • Supports school office functions in delivering services in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assists other personnel as may be required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Attends meetings and workshops to record events and convey and/or receive information.

Clearances:

  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.

Public Health Compliance

  • Must follow safety and health protocols.
