Western New England University is seeking an Executive Director to help establish and manage the first FinTech Incubator (FTI) in Western Massachusetts. The FTI offers FinTech services to entrepreneurs, existing businesses, and academic institutions in the region. The incubator is housed in the College of Business and has collaborative spaces for startups and businesses to work on FinTech projects. In addition, the FTI has a high-performance computing data center which hosts an AI supercomputer on the WNE campus in Springfield.

Within the normal work schedule set forth in the Western new England University Employee Handbook, this position will involve hours outside of the normal workday, including some evenings and weekends, as necessary to perform essential and/or other tasks.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications/experience:

  • Sales skills, including prospecting, negotiation, territory management, and closing skills.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to present project data and concepts to non-project audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills with a flexible mindset open to new ideas and capable of building strong relationships while results-oriented with demonstrated ability to deliver results in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to be flexible to handle rapid change and multiple tasks at once.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills necessary for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels across the University to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.
  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
  • A working knowledge of FinTech and AI is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA/MS university degree with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration preferred.
  • Project management certification, such as the PMP, is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
  • Basic administration skills.
  • At least five years of industry sales and/or project management experience.
  • A working knowledge of FinTech, Analytics, Finance and/or AI is a plus.
